Evv Satyanarayana, the established Indian film director and producer passed away on Friday at the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad, India from cardiac arrest. The famous 56 yr. old film director, whose films have yet to make waves in the American film industry, is known to have made over 50 popular films in India before his passing.

Satyanarayana belonged to the Telugu Indian ethnic group (Teluga is the next widely spoken language in India after Bengali and Hindi) and gained much acclaim for his clever use of wit and humor in such Tollywood films as Hello Brother and Abbaiyigaru.

The highly regarded director, whose real name is Edara Veera Venkata Satyanarayana, had also been suffering from a 2 yr. battle with throat cancer for two years and was undergoing medical treatment for the condition at the time of his death.

Satyanarayana leaves behind a wife and two sons, actors Aryan Rajesh and Allari Naresh. Both sons have appeared in numerous films directed by their father, although the younger, Allari Naresh has reportedly received greater acclaim for his performances than elder brother Aryan Rajesh.

The Telegu film industry expressed deep sadness and shock over the announcement of Satyanarayana’s passing.
