Kalaignar TV latest news | CBI Raids on Kalaignar TV in chennai, Tamilnadu
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday night raided Kalaignar TV as part of the investigation in the 2G spectrum scam.
Sources in the agency said a special team of the CBI’s Anti Corruption Branch armed with a search warrant issued by a Delhi court commenced the raid shortly before midnight.
The team searched for documents pertaining to investments for several hours. The raid concluded around 6 a.m., the sources said.
Top management of the Kalaignar TV was present during the search, the sources said.
DMK chief M. Karunanidhi’s wife M.K. Dayalu owns 60 per cent stake in Kalaignar while party MP Kanimozhi has 20 per cent.
The CBI had told a court recently, “It has also come to light that there was a transaction of Rs 214 crore from M/s Cineyug Films private limited to Kalaignar TV in 2009.
