Vanche gujarat program organised by Gujarat
‘Vanche Gujarat’ programme, a book reading session, was organised today in Gujarat’s schools and colleges with nearly 50 lakh students participating in the campaign.
As another innovative initiative, the Gujarat government has arranged for the book-reading programme. Chief minister Narendra Modi on Friday asked youth to take part in ‘Vanche Gujarat’ programme.
The ‘Vanche Gujarat’ initiative aims at incorporating the habit of reading among younger generation.
“…This mega event will be organised for citizens in general and for children specifically, on a large scale, to inspire them to read more,” principal secretary of the state education department, Hasmukh Adhia said in a statement.
The ‘Vanche Gujarat’ programme, which was arranged between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., allow children read books other than their school syllabus. And the programme was conducted in their respective schools and college campus’ grounds. Adhia added that he expected the campaign would create history.
