Windows registry is a database that contains information about hardware and software installed. In case of change of a structure or a non-exact value you might damage the registry database and having problems with Windows. For this reason, before any change in the registry must be:
1 – Create a restore point
In the menu start, click Control Panel
Click system and security
Click System
Click Advanced (left) system
Click on the “System Protection” tab
Click local disk (C: System)
Click the Create button
Give a name to your restore point
The creation begins
A message of confirmation, click close
Click on the OK button
2 – Backup of the registry database
In the menu start, type regedit, and then click regedit
On the file menu, click Export
Name your backup for example the date
