Bombay house fire incident | Fire accident in Bomabay House on 9th february 2011

A major fire broke out on Wednesday morning in the ‘Bombay House’ building in South Mumbai where offices of the Tata Group are located. Three people are dead and one injured in the fire that gutted the building.
The fire is now under control and search operations are still on.
The fire was reported from the basement of the building, fire brigade sources said.
Ten fire engines and four tankers have been rushed to the spot, the sources said.
Bombay House is an historic privately owned building in Mumbai that serves as the head office of Tata Group. Situated near Flora Fountain it was completed in 1924. It has been the Tata Group’s headquarters ever since. The building is a four-story colonial structure built with Malad stone, and was designed by architect George Wittet, who later became the head of Tata Engineering Company Limited.
