After promoting the good deeds of people around the world for months, CNN is broadcasting a tribute show to the year’s top 10 heroes on Thanksgiving night at 8 ET/5 PT.

The CNN Hero of the Year was announced during the show filming in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Nepalese anti-slavery activist Anuradha Koirala was named the winner and awarded $100,000 for her organization.

However, tonight’s broadcast will be the first time the heroes’ awards ceremony will be shown in full. The show also includes an appearance by the 33 Chilean miners, who took the stage to sing the Chilean national anthem after a standing ovation.

Bon Jovi, John Legend and Sugarland also performed.
