The BANGABANDHU NATIONAL Stadium in Dhaka is all set for the grand opening ceremony of the tenth edition of ICC Cricket World Cup on February 17. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will officially declare open the biggest sporting extravaganza of the year, ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 at 6:00 PM local time.

Apart from Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, ICC President Sharad Pawar, officials of the ICC governing body, members and presidents of various cricket boards and the 14 participating teams will be present at the stadium.
The opening ceremony of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will feature fireworks display and cultural performances by renowned Indian, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi artists. Indian singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan along with Ehsaan and Loy will perform the official song for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 “De Ghumaa Ke” in three languages on this occasion.

Famous Canadian singer Bryan Adams is scheduled to perform in the opening ceremony of the tournament. Indian playback singers such as Sonu Nigam, Bangladeshi singer Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin and folk singer Momtaz Begum, and Sri Lankan pop singers Baithya, Santhusth and Iraj are among the list of performers, who will rock the opening ceremony of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

The opening ceremony of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will be telecast live on ESPN STAR Sports’ bouquet of networks including ESPN, STAR Sports and STAR Cricket.
