Diwali, or deepavali, is a major indian festival,and a substantial festival in hinduism, sikhism and jainism. Numerous legends are affiliated with diwali. Today it is celebrated by hindus, jains and sikhs throughout the globe as the “festival of light,” where the lights or lamps signify victory of good over the evil within every another person. The festival is in addition celebrated by buddhists of nepal, peculiarly the newar buddhists.
This year diwali will be celebrated from november 5 to november 10. The most principal portion of this festival is to light clay- oil lamps in homes. Burning of crackers too is considered substantial for the duration of the five day festival.
