Patiala House (Hindi: पटियाला हॉउस) is a 2011 Hindi family drama / sports film directed by Nikhil Advani and starring Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma. British Asian Actor Armaan Kirmani also makes his debut in this film as Akshay’s brother. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mukesh Talreja, Krishan Kumar and Twinkle Khanna under the banner of People Tree Films, Credence Motion Pictures and Hari Om Entertainment. The film released on 11 February 2011. Theatrical trailer of the movie was premièred with Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan on December 24, 2010. Akshay Kumar plays the role of a fast bowler, loosely based upon Monty Panesar. The film had its premier on 10 February 2011 in Patiala.
A bonding tale, the story is set on the backdrop of UK and here is Patiala house, the residence of the Kahlot family. The head of the family is Bauji (rishi kapoor) who believes in culture and tradition and no one in the family goes against him. So much is the respect for him that his eldest son Parghat Singh alias Gattu (akshay) has a strong desire to play cricket for the England team but Bauji thwarts all such ideas. Though he is disappointed, Gattu respects Bauji’s decision and goes by it. However, twist in the tale occurs and a time comes when Gattu might get a second chance. Whether he uses it or not or whether Bauji loosens his grip or not forms the rest of the story……
