Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein is a 2001-released Indian film directed by Gauthem Menon starring Madhavan, Diya Mirza and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. It was a remake of the popular Tamil film Minnale which also starred Madhavan in the lead. The film was unsuccessful during the time of its release, but over the years it has developed some sort of a cult following among Indian youth, especially because of the soft and romantic portrayal of love between the chocolate boy Madhavan and the beautiful Diya. Teenagers often find it intriguing because of the nicely conveyed emotions of love and heartbreak.
Plot
Cupid’s arrow and a lot more strike at Madhav Shastri (R. Madhavan) when he first has a glimpse of beautiful Reena Malhotra (Diya Mirza). Thereafter he meets her again and finds out that she is the betrothed of one Rajiv, and so impersonating Rajiv he enters Reena’s life. They both fall in love. Then American-settled Rajiv Samra (Saif Ali Khan), who used to know Madhav from college, comes to India to marry Reena. Reena is shocked to find out that the one she has given her heart out to is a fraud and a fake. Accordingly, she decides not to do anything with him, and let her parents (Maya Alagh and Navin Nischal) go ahead with the arranged marriage with Rajiv.
