A deep depression over southeast bay of bengal, centered around 950 km from chennai, would bring rain and thundershower across tamil nadu and andhra pradesh over the following two days, the weather office said on friday.
The deep depression has moved westwards and lay centered at with regards to 750 km east of trincomalee (sri lanka), 950 km east-southeast of chennai and 1100 km southeast of visakhapatnam, it said.
It would intensify farther into a cyclonic storm which may subsequently become a serious cyclonic storm. It would move west-northwest and cross north tamil nadu and south andhra pradesh coast amid puducherry and nellore near chennai by november seven,” the weather office said.
Rain or thundershower would take place at most places over north tamil nadu and south andhra pradesh coasts starting on saturday.
Squally winds ranging from 55-65 kmph to 75 kmph would start along and off north tamil nadu and south andhra pradesh coast from saturday morning, it said, adding, the sea conditions will be very rough and advised fishermen at sea to return to the coast.
