Emerging cricketer and Under-19 player Gagandeep Singh was shot dead by some miscreants in a hotel in Meerut. The incident occurred at 11:30 pm on Friday night. The police arrested six people in connection with the murder of Gagandeep. The murder weapons was also recovered.
According to sources, Gagandeep and his friends were standing outside a hotel, which was selling 'kebabs'. There was an altercation between the hotel owner and the miscreants over 'kebabs', following which the goons started firing. Gagandeep Singh was accidentally killed, while the hotel owner was also shot dead.
The 18-year-old Gagandeep and hotel owner Shahnawaz were rushed to a hospital, but they were declared brought dead. Another man was injured in the incident. Gagandeep represented India in an U-19 series in Australia six months ago.
