Story
A regular story, the tale begins with Kinathadi Kaali (ramya) who is a powerful woman showing her magic and in that process, she also turns a screen scorcher (nasser) into a shadow. Years pass by and in today's age, Priya (Keerthika), a very small girl is pampered by her parents (ramji, sangeetha) to the core. She is also a brilliant and intelligent girl. The story takes a turn when she gets possessed by the spirit of Savithri (kaveri). Apparently, Kaveri wants to avenge her death caused by her lover Nanjappan (riyaz khan). What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Presentation
The director has come up with a routine tale but then it is the presentation that scores maximum points while the narrative could have been better. The dialogues were average, the script was weak but the screenplay was better. Background score was okay, cinematography was neat. The real show stealer was the computer graphics which captured the images and did the finishing smoothly. Editing was required at few places. Visual effects were appealing. Keerthika has given a very good performance and she looks sweet. Ramya Krishnan was ravishing and good, Sangeetha and Ramji didn't have much to offer, Nasser was brief, Ganja Karuppu didn't have much smiles to share, Riyaz Khan was regular, Kaveri was alright, the others did their bit as required.
Conclusion
The film is exclusively for the kids and they have packed it with enough visual effects and graphics that will engage the little ones. Even the elders might take a leaf or two out of the film. While the first half goes about in a regular way, the second half gets a bit interesting before ending up with a predictable climax. More than the content, it is only the presentation and the impact through the visuals which should be taken into account. This is a recommended summer treat for the kids and if elders also join the party, then the film can become a profit grosser. |
