Story
An interesting tale, the story begins with a young man Nandhan (suresh) who hails from Sri Lanka and he creates chaos by kidnapping a girl (meera jasmine). She happens to be the daughter of the minister (suman) and also a television journalist. The minister assigns the rescue work to director general of police (rajeev) and his subordinate (bose). The story takes a turn when Nandhan demands that a Sri Lankan national detained by the Indian police be released in exchange for the girl. Who is that person? What is Suresh's link with that person? All this forms the rest of the story.
Presentation
The director has come up with an interesting subject but then his presentation worked out alright while his narrative failed to impress. The dialogues were good at places, the script was weak, the screenplay was normal. Background score was alright but one song was impact creating. Cinematography was excellent. Editing was effective, costumes didn't have much work while art department was apt. Suresh did a decent job considering his debut while Meera was not used to her fullest potential. Suman was standard, Bose Venkat was appealing, Rajeev was regular, Vivek failed to impress this time. The others didn't have much say.
Conclusion
The film touches base with movies like 'Unnai Pol Oruvan' in a way and though the subject is interesting, such flicks rely a lot on deft handling of the script and powerful screenplay. While the first half takes off effectively, things slow down before the interval and the second half has got its own good moments but overall, it has got a dull momentum. Technically, the film has been made but more than that, it is the record breaking attempt of entering the Guinness record which is interesting.
