Vairamuthu: Raavanan will get National Awards

Raavanan is a film which has Vikram and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles. This film is being produced in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. Manirathnam has directed this film. Some scenes and song sequences were screened for the media people at Lady Andal school auditorium at Chetpet.
A forest set was erected in the stage. Lot of song and dance took place in this. Vikram danced for a song with a jungle man get up. A R Rahman who has composed the music for this film appeared on the stage and sang two songs. Actor Karthik and Priyamani anchored the programme.
Both of them have acted in Raavanan. Prabhu and Prithviraj who have donned important roles in this film spoke on this occasion. Vikram while speaking said,” We cannot say that Raavanan is the story of Ramayana. This film is an amalgamation of Ramayana. Mahabharata and Panchatantra.
We have taken much efforts and strain to shoot this film in forests and mountains. It was very thrilling.” Vairamuthu said,” I wrote the six songs of this film by sitting in the same place. Manirathnam has made this film like a penance. Manirathnam, Vikram and Aishwarya Rai will definitely get National Awards.” Manirathnam participated in this function. The film is to hit the screens next month.
