Obama in Delhi, Manmohan Singh to Receive Obama at Delhi Airport

After celebrating Diwali with a surprise dance in Mumbai, US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have reached at Palam airport in New Delhi on Sunday, Nov 7.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur. PM broke the protocol to personally receive the President of strongest nation in the world.

PM received Obama in a rare and special gesture of big smile. In response to his big smile, Obama hugged PM but, PM looks very uncomfortable with the hug.

Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao, Union Corporate Minister Salman Khursheed and Indian Ambassador to US Meera Shankar were also present at airport to receive Obama and First Lady.

Before leaving for Delhi, Obama interacted with selected students at St Xaviers College in Mumbai. He responded to the questions of Indian students and talked about Indo-Pak relation and US’ Afghan war policy.
